Video Diary

VideoDiary records your video with a purpose, direction, and goal in mind.

The first thing to mention is that with every video that you take, you can set a couple of questions to be asked about during the recording. These questions are called Focus Questions, you can decide whenever those questions are asked with a simple tap and answer them.

With this, you can bring some order to the recording session. Or you can ignore the questions and just record the video as it is… but then you’ll miss out on the second thing part.

The second thing to mention is the way that you can view the video. VideoDiary will keep track of when the Focus Questions are asked during the recording session and enable you to skip directly to that specific part of the video with the question and your answer to it.

The other thing is your speech will be automatically transcribed into text using speech recognition. This will give you an overview of all your answers to all the focus questions. There is no need to search and watch parts of the video recording that are of no interest. This will enhance the replay value of the video when you only want to see a specific moment in the video.

Recording a video is one goal, but learning from it should be the second goal to aim for.

The third thing to mention is ordering and accessing the videos. VideoDiary organizes all the videos in a specific way which allows you to quickly access them using the default calendar mode. Which as the name implies orders all the videos by creation date.

Or you can use the search mode. At the start of the recording session you’ll be asked about your mood and to choose an emoji to represent your feeling. This is the first search option, you’ll always remember the happy days… or the sad days.

The second search option, with each Focus Question that you provide you can set a tag value to that specific question and with the search option, you can find all the videos where that question is asked. For example, you can choose to be asked about sport and exercise on certain days, with the search option you can quickly find those days and review the results.

The third search option, you can always mark a video with a star status and search all videos with this status.

These are the three main things about VideoDiary. Recording a video, organize the content of the video, and replay the video to learn something from it.

The last thing to mention is memory management. All the videos are stored on your iCloud account. When you record a video every day a lot of memory will be consumed on your device, as the default VideoDiary will choose to store all your videos on your iCloud account to save space on your device. After 1-2 weeks the video will be removed from your device and re-downloaded when you request it for a view.

By using your iCloud account as storage, you’ll not have to deal with any external services or subscription fees.

With every recorded video you’ll see the video size in MB. The recording quality is set to medium as default to provide you good quality and also reasonable video file size.

Nag Me About It

The NagMe app enables you to set repeated alerts like every hour, every day at a specific time, or any other combination in days/months/years.

The alerts themselves can be easily muted when not needed and be unmuted again when needed. With this, you don’t need to recreate specific alerts that you often use.

NagMe alerts can be used in various ways, for example when you are in a study/work session and want to keep track of the time discreetly. You can set an alert to triggers every 30 minutes.

Another example is that with the NagMe alerts you can specify a message, like an alert every Friday at 21:00 with the message to take out the trash.

NagMe alerts are limited to the device where the NagMe alerts are set. So when you have multiple iPhone devices, you don’t run in the situation like the same alert triggering on different devices.

There is also an option that lets you set and send external NagMe alerts to other devices and users.

Go to the “Someone Else” section, tap the “+” and enter the device ID (which you can find under the ID button on the other device) and a username. Before you can set an alert, access has to be granted from that other device.

External alerts can only be muted and deleted by the ones who set them. The main reason for this design is in the usage scenario of the parent-child.

As a parent, you can use the NagMe app to remotely set alerts on the child’s device with a few simple taps and gestures.

Set a NagMe to trigger every 10 minutes until the child finishes the chore, there is no easier parenting tool than this.

PuppyDo

PuppyDo uses the build-in Reminders app as its database. This means it will use the reminders that you have created and display them as Todos in PuppyDo.

New todo’s that you create in PuppyDo will also be created as reminders for the Reminders app.

This is also true for editing and deleting.

In short, there is no big difference between a reminder and a todo task.

The main difference is the way PuppyDo displays the data. It only shows one task at the time, when you want to see everything you have to go through them one by one.

This may seem cumbersome, but it can help you recall the todo tasks better in your memory.

To make the display of the todo more rememberable and enjoyable each todo is coupled with a random picture of a puppy. Which can motivate you to scroll through the todo list multiple time.

Additionally, there is an option to use custom photos instead of the pre-selected random pictures provided.

These are the two main core functionality of Ready2Order.

There are of course more options which include a password lock to “Menu Mode”, you don’t want your customer to leave this mode and change your food database.

Step By Step – Day By Day

Step By Step is an app that directs your focus on one and one thing only.

All other distractions like setting multiple goals, sub-directives, repeated values on daily routines, etc. that can be found in other apps are absent here.
The main problem with those features and options was that it enables you to make multiple lists of goals and subgoals to the point where you will lose track of what’s important.
When you fail one goal in this scenario, no problem you have set other goals. When you fail some more goals… you just quit the app or start all over again.

Step By Step puts a stop to this by limiting you to one single goal. Each day you’ll be asked if you reach that goal if you do (you mark that day) and if you don’t (no problem there is always a tomorrow).
As the days go by, you will see your progress in a very clear and easy to understand screenshot.

Voice Box

A voice box or the larynx is an organ in the neck that is involved in the protection of the trachea and sound production.

This app is all about the last part: the production of sound, especially speech.

For most people, this is a common thing that you do daily. You just open your mouth and communicate through words you intend.
If you have no problem performing this action, you don’t need this app. Seriously, no need.

On the other hand, if you do have a problem performing the action above, then Voice Box can be a helpful tool for you.

Users who may find Voice Box useful:
People with a hearing impairment will use sign language to communicate with each other, but not everyone knows sign language.

People who yell and cheer a lot for their team at sporting events will undoubtedly get a sore throat the next day.

People who get the flu or something like it that causes lots of coughing may lose their voice or experience pain when talking.

People who needed a medical operation, like for their tonsils, will be unable to speak for a while.

People who are learning a new language can use Voice Box as a pronunciation checker, provided if they write the words, and also set voice to that language they are learning.

And besides these examples, there are probably lots more to name and list.

The general usage of Voice Box is you type in the words and they will be read aloud. You can choose between: at every word or the end of the sentence.
There are dozens of language voices to choose from. Each voice can be further customized in speed and pitch level.
You can save your text entries and have your favorite quotes ready at hand within a few taps.

SmallTalk

Small talk is defined as a light conversation about common, everyday things.
Depending on the social occasion, the conversation may vary from asking how a person is doing to talking about the weather.

This seems like a simple activity and most people do this every day.
But not everyone is as skillful at it as the other.

Some may find this hard, the concept of having a polite conversation about unimportant things.

What do you talk about when you don’t know each other?

What if you say something wrong and offend the other person.

You only have one chance for a first impression.

How do you deal with awkward silences?

I think most of us will have experienced this a couple of times in their lifetime, at least I do.
At those times I really wished that I could read minds and know what to say to avoid certain awkward moments.

Unfortunately that’s not really possible. But… what if?
What if there is something close to it. Something that will help you, in a big way, by giving you options.

That’s the main function of this application: to provide you with topics to talk about. It’s as simple as that.

So where to begin?
First you have to enter a couple of topics that you find interesting or have strong feelings for.

These topics will be combined into a special list, an identifier for your preferences.
The list itself is used to provide various functions inside this application.

For example you can get a notification, when another user who shares similar interest is nearby.
Or you can browse through all the active users around you and discover the topics of interest that you have in common.

Another example is that the list will be used to determine the most popular topics across all users. This way you can always find a save topic to start a conversation.
The popular topics are further ordered into active topics around you, new trending topics and all time popular topics.

And beside this, there are even more options and functions to discover.

So what are you waiting for?
Try it out and before you know it, you’ll be talking to everyone.
