Do or Do Not

Track your day to day activities with Do or Do Not. Once you start using this application, you’ll not want to go back to a time without having it. Each activity or habit can be set with an icon to better identify and distinguish itself from other activities.
The activity itself has an occurrence count, for how many times a day you want to do this task. The number of icons represents this count. You simply tap on the icon to mark part of the activity as done and go back to what you were doing.

The activities will reoccur each day and new entries will be automatic created for it. You can easily set the status to non-active to skip a day.

Each activity has a timeline function which shows the daily results for each day it was active. This is easy to understand, and you can just scroll through it and to get a comprehensive overview.

In general, most applications offer the option to track habits, streaks, routines, etc. only have one type of entry. The thing you want to do and improve. Negative items and things you want to avoid will also be put on the same list. This can work for a small list of items, but for bigger lists, this could start to get confusing. Do you have to do this one item or was it the other way around?

Do or Do Not makes a distinction between activities that you want to do and activities that you want to avoid each day. These Do Not activities could be anything you can think of. From quit smoking to eating less junk food, if improving your health is what you are aiming for. Or from reducing the time watching YouTube videos to checking your Facebook account, when improving your productivity is what you want. Each time you withstood the temptation, you mark it and go back to what you were doing.

With the selection list function, you can easily switch between the positive Do activities and the negative Do Not activities.
Do activities should be tackled with a positive attitude towards completing them.
Do Not activities should be tackled as activities that you should be avoiding, or more to the point the temptations that you should be withstanding.
From a behavioral standpoint: it is important to make a distinction between what should be done and what shouldn’t be done.

Do or Do Not also support Widgets on your home screen from iOS 14 onwards. Widgets are a good way to remind you of the activities that you have set for yourself. Activities are represented by the icons you have selected for them. And the progress can be easily understood in one glance.

Battery Overview List

Battery Overview List is an application for users with multiple Apple devices and who wish to keep track of battery charges across all those devices.

Using one device, let’s say the main, you can see the battery charge status information for the device that you are holding and all your other devices.

TableView Interactions:
The first table view item is the current device that you are holding. When you tap on the item itself you can see the charging log. But when you do a long press, you’ll get a context menu with more options to choose from.

The other table view items are for other devices that you own, where the app has been installed. When you tap on the item, an update request will be sent to the device to update itself for the battery charge value and status. But when you do a long press, you’ll get a context menu for other options like the charge history of the device or the option to delete the item itself.

When you plug-in the device, the plug-in time and charge value will be noted. When you unplug the device, the unplug time and end charge value will all be combined with the plug-in values into a charge history item.

Video Vault

VideoVault is a time capsule for your videos. A prime example is: it records a video about your new year’s resolution, you set a lock-date, when the times comes you’ll get a notification about it, launch the app and see whether you have kept up with your new year’s resolution or not.

VideoVault can also be used to increase your resolve and productivity. At the beginning of the week, record a video about what the goal or accomplishment you are aiming for. Set a lock-date till the end of the week. Get a notification and review the video. Record a new video for next week or set a new lock-date for the already recorded video.

The main point about VideoVault is rewatching your recorded videos of what you want to achieve and keeping it fresh in your mind. Most people tend to forget. Forgetting the smaller things in your daily life up to the bigger things, like your hopes and dreams.
When you were a child, what was your dream of what you would be when you grow up? Did it come true or have you given up on it?
The main enemy is compliance with a routine of doing things, without spending too much time thinking about why and how. Losing focus on what’s important to you, while going through your day to day life. And before you know it a week… a month or a year has gone by.

There is a difference between remembering what you want and seeing yourself saying what you want. The human mind and memory processing is all about optimum efficiency. Use it or lose it.
When you first learn a skill, all your attention has to be on the task before you would master it. Think of how many hours and energy it took for you to learn a second language or playing a musical instrument when you were a child. While you were practicing and using the skill every day, you’ll have no problem performing the task. But the moment you stop for a certain time… it will be harder to pick it up again.

Special features:
VideoVault has a lot of guided and structured questions that help you delve deeper into your goal or accomplishment aims. So every recording about a topic will be different compared to the previous one.
With the build-in speech recognition, all your answers will be automatically transcribed and ordered into an easy to read question-to-answer list.
You can use this question-to-answer list to directly view that specific video segment, no more scrubbing a video to the segment you want to review.

PictoCalendar

PictoCalendar acts like an extension to your default Calendar application on iOS. This means all your existing events can be viewed and edited with PictoCalendar. PictoCalendar doesn’t save data in the app itself but uses the default Calendar database from iOS, so new events created by PictoCalendar will also show up in the default Calendar app.

Alarms, alerts, attendee invites, location, etc goes through the default Calendar app.

So what does PictoCalendar do on its own? PictoCalendar displays your events data in a new way using pictograms and emojis. Using machine learning it will convert your event title text into emojis and pictograms. Adding your own emoji in the title is also possible when PictoCalendar fails to convert one for you.

PictoCalendar displays the emojis and pictograms one at the time for an event.

There is also an option of name recognition and attendee in an event, you’ll see the profile picture of the person mixed into the pictogram and emoji.

As for navigation, simply tap on the event to trigger a detailed view on the top showing a short description of the calendar event itself. Tap on the detail view for more information and edit options.

There is a side timeline option on the right side of the screen to give you an overview of how your day is build-up. If you’re using multiple calendars, this will automatically show up in different colors.

Swipe left or right to switch between days in a week. Or you can press the arrow buttons at the bottom to switch weeks. Tap de days to directly go to a day in the week.

Friday the 13th…

So did something bad happen today? Ehm nope still the same. Nothing special. Was I extra special in everything that I did? I don’t think so.

I do wonder why it’s considered a bad day for most when you mention Friday the 13th or the number 13. Maybe I should look into it. Unlucky numbers.

My lucky number is 14. Why? Ehm I guess I was born on the 14th. Or that I have some good association with the number 14. It’s all about the memories that I linked to this number. And it would or could be another number I was born on a different day. Number 4 is also a good number for me. Anyways tomorrow it’s the 14th. The 14th of February….which means Valentine’s day. The day of bloody hearts. You know Saint Valentine and bloody sacrifices.

Back to number 13 then or Friday, the end of the week… what to do? What to do indeed. For me it’s not really weekend. Or more to the point I don’t really have a real work week. So everyday is a weekend or workday for me, when you work at home. To be honest I’ve been kinda lazy these couple of days. I didn’t do any coding at all. What I did do was read some books about Swift. Which can be considered studying, right? Maybe not. It was like read something and play Hearthstone. Read some more and do something else. Read it again and got distracted by another thing. Key word “Distraction”.

Not much more to say to be honest. I’m still waiting for a review response from Apple. I made a small widget app and submitted it at the beginning of January. It got rejected because I didn’t include a privacy policy link. So included it in website. And now a couple of weeks later the app is still in review. Sigh. And that’s partly why I’m not really in the coding mood. Because part of me want to know the result, before I can move on to something else. It’s like I’m stuck in a “for loop” and the only way to get out of it is a “break” statement from Apple.

Hmm looking at the above. I think I need to “switch” things up, instead of waiting for…
